Rock Of Ages – AGA Lover

“When we moved in we had to convert the Aga from coal to oil which is much warmer and more comfortable. The re-furb was quite a palaver though – we had to get the oil into the kitchen for the first time which meant us employing an archaeologist to oversee the digging of the trench. In the end, no artefacts were found, but it was a slow process. However, the inconvenience was worthwhile. “I don’t know what we’d do without our Aga, it gives us such flexibility - we can go from having 30 people for lunch to preparing a Sunday roast for the family. It’s very easy to cook with, the fact that it’s always on and provides instant heat. It’s also great for slow cooking. When all our family came over last Christmas we catered for 15 people at every meal and the Aga made producing Christmas Lunch for such a large crowd problem free – cooking our 20lb Turkey with ease. Moving from a terraced house where we were used to gas I was worried about the Aga’s ability to generate rapid intense heat, but it’s great at this and we enjoy really good Aga cooked stir fries.
