I love my black beauty – Tallulahcat

When I first saw an Aga many years ago the thing I remember most was the utter sense of warmth. This is probably as we lived in an area which suffered from power cuts so we would huddle around my neighbours one. I determined to own one when I had a kitchen large enough. I have had my black beauty for 5 years now and could never see a time when I wouldnt have one. I do remember being terrified when I first got it as I didn't know how to cook on it, but that didnt last for too long. It cost as much as a small car to buy and probably nearly as much to run but I cannot imagine being without her now - obviously she is a female!!! Have burnt so many things forgetting they are in the top oven -just don't seem to remember even after all this time. Also burnt clothes placed on top of the Aga as well - but such is life. I recently had cause to ask the price of a new Aga - £7800 - glad I dont have to buy a new one coz even I wouldn't pay that much. Am hoping to move to Cheshire soon and will need to convert my Aga to oil. That is not a cheap option either but sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do.
