AGA Stories

aga v husband – fewmodcons

Grew up with an Aga and learned to love it for all its versatility - cooking, laundry, keeping the house at a pleasant ambient heat etc etc. Married and left home in 1968. Husband No.1 luckily saw it my way and came to love the ancient solid-fuel model we acquired after buying our first house. He lugged it back home to us,assembled, on a low-loader from a house in the New Forest where it had been chucked out onto the lawn. 25 quid well spent. Didn't seem to mind trips outside to the coal bin on frosty mornings. When we parted he seemed to miss the Aga quite a lot! Husband 2 kept on about wasted energy and when we moved from my house to a new joint house, despite his earlier promises no Aga materialised. I got one anyway in the end,1991, which improved family life for all.Didn't cure his griping though. His departure was nothing to do with the Aga, in the end. Very happy now with lovely Aga to do so much to make life pleasant, and absolutely no moaning going on at all!
