My Aga friend – EJA

We moved into our home in Oct 1959 & had our Aga installed soon afterwards, it took a bit of getting used to but I was soon converted, it is still a solid fuel model although we did consider converting to gas during the fuel crisis in the 70s. It has been the heart of our kitchen the first place people make for in the cold weather, it has hatched chicks in the bottom oven, bought a "dead" puppy back to life, dried our girls riding clothes & boots, besides producing the most wonderful toast. Although I am now beginning to find it hard to make up & empty the ashes every day (arthritic fingers) I don't rally think I could change to another form of cooker, & we have grown old together she has aged better than me.
