Wait for what you want – Trematon Denizen

Once upon a time ... I dreamed of an Aga since they were always associated on TV and books in ivy-clad rambling country houses full of exciting people. I married a farmer (not just for his Aga!) and 'inherited' a rather battered 2-door Pistachio Green Aga (circa 1972?) which had been sadly neglected. It worked wonderfully on solid fuel but never enjoyed conversion to oil. The years pass ... much water under the bridge ... and I later buy a house in the town already with a 2-door Cream Aga (circa 1966?) which is older but in far better condition than my previous one and works on gas. I cannot imagine life without one now. Like an open fire, it is so central to the house and serves so many useful purposes apart from food (i.e. drying herbs & flowers, wet laundry, keeping a cup of tea hot when busy etc) - it is a true investment. Long may they be around. I may not live in an ivy-clad rambling house or even be an exciting person but my domestic life is enriched because of the Aga. We eat healthier food too as cooking is a pleasure, not a chore. The End.
