still going strong – jestelia

I was delighted to find an Aga in place when we moved to our current home. It came as a surprise to find it was solid fuel and probably dates from the 30s. It lit first time , took a bit of getting used to and quite a lot of searching to find roasting tins etc to fit on the one and only set of runners and much improvisation in the other ovens to make shelves! Now I cook on nothing else, accept the dust from solid fuel and live in awe of its fuel efficiency. It is a great working museum piece and makes me feel totally connected to the past and how I wish it could tell me all it has seen in its life of around 70 years!Plenty of life in the old girl yet!
