60 years of Aga – Devon dumpling

The first solid fuel aga was installed in 1948, this was replaced with an LPG aga in 1984, which just fitted into a medieval fireplace, by raising the granite lintel (wt 4 tons) originally quarried from Dartmoor. The aga provides the only heat on the ground floor and also hot water for the kitchen sink and water for one bathroom.
