AGA Stories

Still running-!930s – valderee

My parents-in-law bought the house in the late 1950's complete with 2 Agas. They sold the smaller 2 oven and kept the 1930s cream 4 oven solid fuel Aga.It was moved to its present position in late 1970s and remains in use today. The hot water tank no longer works and the baking oven is no longer reliable but it is a good friend and makes a very good roast dinner. My husband and I bought the house and are keeping it going for the forseable future. It was considered to old to convert to gas (we had a gas Aga previously). I remember to riddle it and top it up most of the time but we have had it go out on us now and again.
