Life on the Sea Shore – PINKERS

Well let me see . I live in a pretty white cottage on the sea shore in the West Highlands of Scotland with my very lovely owner and her two boys .I am the love of her life and I do my very best to live up to her boasting about me to any one and everyone who will listen . I am 8 years old and am the "chosen one " Yes , I wasn't inherited I was chosen from her previous experience of the delight of Agas from solid fuel ones to gas and then to me oil . Yes after being widowed young she decided oil was the way to go and traditional cream with enamel lids was the way forward. I delight in warming the children's trousers in the morning and even " ironing " the school shirts on the hot plate tops . I am a dab hand at drying out their soggy wet trainers to if they stuff me with newspaper overnight and rest me on the top . I make their porridge and also their toast . I braise their dinners and make delightful biscuits, cakes and scones . Do you know , once when a terrible storm was raging outside and the waves from the sea were spraying the windows , the electricity went out for two whole days . I came into my own then . I kept them warm and fed by candle light . I think that was my very favorite time with them . Some times when the house is empty , the 53 year old "lady " of the house uses my rail as a bar to pretend she is a ballerina . teehee . I have a few sploshes and splashes on the underside of my simmering plate lid (but hey she is not good on elbow grease ) but I don't mind . She now has an AGA splash shield which so far has kept my hot plate lid pristine . For christmas I got two new accessories . A shiny new old fashioned kettle and a pizza paddle . oooo I love feeling wanted . Trouble is the AGA pans last for ever so I am dependent on new designs for my treats . I am constantly being lovingly wiped and lent on. I have the most amazing view of sea and mountains .I am so happy I radiate heat constantly . Some times when gentleman call and rest the red wine on my corner to warm it up slightly they warm their (pardon the expression ) BUM on me . teehee . Their wives love me to and I delight with the sound of the nattering and chattering when they come in search of coffee and Aga buns . OH WELL time now to air the laundry before thinking about cooking their dinner ahhhhh an AGAs work is never done . ;-)
