All electric during the Miners Strike. – acecfh

Working in London and driving to and from Suffolk daily having recently moved out of London and being an all electric house in the country when the Miners went on strike we arrived home on dark, cold, and wet evenings to a house without electricity, heating or cooking facilities. So I installed a solid fuel Rayburn Royal and have maintained it to this day working faultlessly providing Cooking, Hot Water and Heating continuously throughout the winter months. Items to maintain; 4 number Griddles, one side replace firebricks. It is usually shut down during the summer May/June to Oct/Nov. No special maintainance is required and I would not be without a solid fuel Rayburn which has undoubtedly been a very good investment.
