Neil - the "bang, bang man" – Ann

Neil is a very experienced and well qualified plumber but(and he won't mind me saying so)is quite mad. Neil and Peter (the Dutchman) collected my second hand AGA from a farm near Brecon in 1997. They hired a special lorry with a "hoist" to collect it and then proceeded to install it. When it was all ready, Neil tried to light it - for the first time and apparently he had great difficulty.(I was at work at the time!) He had an idea!! Use a little petrol?? Every time I saw Peter, he would recount this story and the tears would run down his cheeks. The blast blew Neil across the kitchen and set fire to his eyebrows and hair. He ran outside and dunked his head in the fish pond. He had the scars for months and will never try that trick again. All the family love the AGA - cats, dogs, children, grandchildren alike. It is just part of the family. I have had new lids since the 'photo was taken and it now looks much better.Everyone should have an AGA!
