What now? – fourovenjon

I grew up in houses with Rayburns and eventually moved into my own house with one. This was a solid fuel Nouvelle which was good fun at first but soon became a chore and very unpredictable for cooking. It was then converted to oil which was great except it never reached the temperatures that wood and coal could and it was horrendously expensive! Now at last we have our beautiful four oven black electric aga which was installed just before Christmas 2008 and has already served so many purposes! We invested in quite a bit of AGA cookware for it which I would certainly recommend. It is a lot of money to pay for a cooker which is on the whole time but the AIMS makes a huge difference. However our old Cornish house needs a gentle steady heat rather than the hot blasts that modern central heating gives out and it really suits my style of cooking. Now I just need a kitchen to go round it!
