The Homecoming – michelle

I was brought up on a solid fuel Rayburn which only responded to my mother's touch when it got moody or decided to go out. When I got married 27 years ago my mother in law was keen I get an Aga as she had one since 1933. Our Edwardian house had a small kitchen with adjoining small sitting room and staff bedroom ( quite common in our type of house). The Aga agent after inspecting informed me it was too small a kitchen as we could not eat in it and it would be a waste. I bided my time until my 25th wedding anniversary and instead of jewels I asked for a builder and an Aga. the builder was slow in coming but the 3 rooms were knocked into one and the Aga ordered 2007. Post building problems arose and by the time they were resolved an AIMS Aga had come on the market. Having carried out extensive research on this new breed of Aga and encouraged by the agent it was duly installed with great ceremony. We are celebrating it's first Christmas with non stop entertaining designed to show off its versatility as well as its state of the art control pad which looks like a miniature flying saucer! Aga and I look forward to a lovely cosy relationship - you could say till death does us part.
