Always ready – Ellie

When I was a little girl my best friend had a solid-fuel aga and I could not see the point of it at all, as she got into trouble if she forgot to fill it up and it went out and it didn't look at all like my mum's gas cooker and I was told not to touch it as it was hot and it looked weird. But when I grew up I grew to like cooking and I wanted to try cooking on an aga, and eventually, after a very long time, I got one! And it's great!! When my kids turn up, at all times of the day and night (they are in their 20s) it is always there to cook them food and dry their clothes and keep the kitchen warm. I like the way the doors click closed and the smells are vented outside and you can put a casserole in the bottom oven and go out and not worry at all if you are held up in traffic as you know it will be OK.
