For Old Time's Sake – Claire

I grew up in the country and when I was young we had a cream solid fuel Aga. There was no central heating at the time, so the Aga always kept the kitchen warm and cosy. I remember the funny-shaped bucket we had for the anthracite to keep the Aga going. Years later, when I had my own home, it was always in the back of my mind that an Aga would be lovely and last year, when we were planning our new kitchen, we incorporated a cream Aga into it. The kitchen designer was not entirely sure that it would fit in with the contemporary units, but it does. Of course, it is cream in colour! Now all the family enjoys the warmth and comfort of the Aga and it brings back great memories to me. It is definitely the best part of the kitchen.
