Why do People Turn Off? – Mrs Harbuckle

I'm just intrigued as to why people turn off their aga's in the summer - what summer? How can anyone deliberately induce that cold, unwelcoming unlit feeling on themselves? It's as much as I can do to turn it off for a service! I was speaking to someone yesterday who'd turned off her 4-oven to save oil! Why? Surely this is false economy! As she was saying her house was freezing, her washing wasn't drying and she felt miserable! All for 4 good bottles of wine a week! By the way, I was hearing all this as she was leaning enviously on my lovely lit aga!!
