Always wanted an AGA – Lesley

I have wanted an AGA for many many years, and over the years I have had various new cookers including a large range cook centre which I loved. I always thought that it would be more or less impossible to actually own an AGA. Until we were moving house last year and we were house hunting. One of the houses that we viewed had an old AGA, which I fell in love with immediately and I hasten to add so did my husband. The house purchase fell through right at the last minute (they the sellers changed their minds) we were devastated (I think if the truth be known mainly because of the AGA) because by now we had become obsessed with the AGA and had to have one. So after the initial shock of the house falling through we decided that whatever house we found to buy, MUST have room for an AGA. We eventually found a house that we both liked, moved in Dec 07 and set about getting planning permission for a two storey extension to the kitchen, garage and a bedroom and bathroom upstairs. The builders started the build the end June and hopefully will all be finished by around end Septemberish. The kitchen has had the electric/gas put in for the AGA, just the plinth to do now. The AGA has been paid for and ordered today and should be with us in about 5 - 6 weeks. My husband and I will celebrate 40 Years of marriage next March, so you can see now it really is a long time that I have wanted my AGA. I will update the site once we get the AGA installed.
