Teaching a new generation – flapjack

Our aga was found in a kitchen of the house we purchased, untouched since the 1970's. The kitchen was built from plywood and had an old fashioned slate shelved pantry and not much else. Our daughters have been taught to cook flapjacks, sponge cakes and tarte au tartin - this is the first time they have enjoyed cooking as the Aga is always on and everything is just the right height. Our hound, "Whiskey", assures me that he enjoys the Aga more as he is often to be found stretched out alongside it's base.
