On going project. – John Roberts

We had our Rayburn installed following a fire in the kitchen, which was started by some laundry falling against the Morso Squirrel that we had at the time. We decided, having no central heating that rather than retreat from a solid fuel stove that we would go the full hog and get a stove that would give us lashings of hot water, a permanently whistling kettle and heat the house in winter. We haven't excperienced a winter yet, but so far we are massively impressed and have found it puts the heart in the house. We are not yet through revamping the kitchen- we had to knock out the old fireplace in order to accomodate the stove, and as you will see from the photo it is not too presentable- we are looking to finish it off with stainless steel to line the brickwork in the near future.
