I'm a newly converted Aganaught – Lyzzie

I was pleased (if not a little daunted) to see that the house I recently fell in love with had an Aga in the kitchen/diner. It also had an electric hob and oven as there is no mains gas. I am a gas lover so this did not bode well. We moved in just before the Easter weekend which was FREEZING! Although the heating was on, try as I might I could not get the Aga started. The heart of the house was as cold as a stone. There are no radiators in the kitchen and so I cooked the Easter meal crouching over an electric hob wearing a woolly hat and gloves! I was not best pleased. The Aga engineer (who was very pleasant and tried everything) took a week and three visits to finally get the Aga to light and stay lit (blocked oil lines). The heart of my home is now beating and it feels SO good to sit in the dining room, very snug and comforting. I was told by non-Aga owners that the only thing they were good for is jaket potatoes, and were a waste of space but I am experimenting with cooking different things and learning how to get the most from my Aga. Converted!
