Chilled Calves – vtappy

We were caught unawares by a blizzard in early March. Our cow Hidden Rumors was due to calve sometime in March. Unfortunately she lived up to her name, hid herself in the woods and delivered twins in the storm. They became very chilled. Our vet said we had to bring them in the house. We bedded them down on a Saturday night infront of our four oven AGA. It took five hours but they were up and running around the kitchen that same night (we moved them to the mud room). This is the first time we've used the AGA for anything but cooking. It came in very handy to save these two babies.
