Aga Revisited – Jane Brown

I have a passion for cooking, work as a home economist/teacher and love Agas. In the early 1980's, we built our first home in Sydney around a very old 4 oven coke fuelled Aga, that we found in country NSW. It was wonderful when it worked but was never installed correctly and sourcing fuel was a problem. I was however, very sad to leave it behind. We moved to Tasmania in 1986 and have renovated an old farmhouse 20 min south of Hobart. Last year we visited the Aga shop in the New Forest UK and saw the new electric model with AIMS technology. This sounded like a great idea. Returning home we looked into renovating our kitchen, replacing our old electric stove with a variety of options. I was unable to 'bond' with any modern stove. So we have just installed a wonderful new Aga. It feels as if our home now has a heart.
