An Aga, a Landrover and the M5 – wendy morison

My Aga is an original 1930's solid fuel,cream aga from Herefordshire,which my mother found through Hill's of Ledbury. Purchased in 1996 for £300(converted to oil some years previously)transported down the M5 to north Cornwall, in the back of the farm Landrover - bravely driven by my sister-in-law and nephew. Within sniffing distance of their destination, the rear tyre was punctured; the intrepid pair proceeded to jack up the Landy, including the not inconsiderable weight of the Aga, change the tyre, and proceed to journey's end. My trusty cream friend - the exact age of it's new dwelling place, is now converted to natural gas, and, as they always are, is at the heart of our home and hearts.
