Heart And Hearth Of Home – Patricia

Home was never as compellingly warm until the day a special visitor arrived (12 April 2007). It was if a favourite aunt had come to show me how to look after my family and myself better.....and stayed, much to everyone's delight. My grown-up sons literally hug the Aga when they come in from work and college and spend more time eating and talking in the kitchen. My 84-year old mother rejoices in the friendly company of a cooker so like the ranges she remembers from her youth. We all cook with more passion and pleasure and our range of favourite (and experimental) dishes is boundless! It is the magnetic heart and hearth of our home, supplying all our meals, drying our clothes, warming hands, feet, boots and shoes and beaming benignly from its chrome caps. And, for all that, my electric bill is less now than when I cooked on a conventional cooker with cooker hood! As a family we try to be as green as possible and the Aga is in tune with that ethic; for us it is less a luxury, more a way of life.
