Before purchasing my Aga I had several people trying to pursuade me to buy other cookers. My friend recommended the Rayburn, but when ever I called ar her house it always used to take at least 20 mins for her to boil the kettle on the Rayburn. She is now in the process of refurbishing her kitchen and is about to purchase an Aga. As the cooker is meant to do all the jobs I would defintely go for an Aga just based on the fact that it boils the kettle quickly. My Aga is also used to heat the hot water. I do not have any other cooking source, when I spoke with people who have Agas they usually have an electric oven and hob for the times when their Aga is switched off e.g. summer. In the 14 years that I have owned my Aga there has only been one summer when I wished that I could have turned off my Aga. Had I purchased my Aga at a later date I would have bought the small electrical Aga look alike cooker for use in hot summers and as a back up for Christmas when I entertain 14 guests. Eveyone who visits the house is always impressed with the appearance of the Aga and the way it cooks the food.
