The Turkey – Faithful

Our Aga was installed 1 week before Christmas admidst a lot of house alterations. In fact the Aga was being installed while the plumbers were having fun with a huge leak, but in spite of all this our engineer bravely soldiered on up to his knees in water. We couldn't wait to cook the Christmas turkey, all the family were waiting to taste this wonderful bird cooked in the Aga. But all was not well the turkey was taking longer than specified in the Mary Berry cookbook (which has been my faithful friend). Check the Aga thermostat- help! very much in the black, further investigations told us the Aga had gone out (being oilfired). How long ago?..don't know, but guess what the turkey carried on cooking. Dinner was somewhat late...but the Aga didn't let us down.
